After running in a variety of brands I have settled on Asics...they hold up the longest, and provide a variety of shoes to fit your individual needs to match your feet and your foot strike. I definitely recommend them!
I too approve of this brand...I was forced into running in these shoes as they were purchased for me as a gift, and I have to say...they are a nice shoe that also holds up well and provides appropriate support for my foot.
I agree, overall heavy in general, I used to only run in New Balance but found them to not last for as many miles as I would expect, or need...this was what influenced me to switch brands! They provide shoes in different widths however which is a GREAT feature for some especially if you are looking for a good cross-trainer.
To be honest haven't run in Nike's since the Air Max craze...completely overrated in my opinion! Not a dependable running shoe, perhaps in others sports but if you're looking for a long lasting, dependable running shoe I wouldn't look to Nike.
