Buy own brand products
Added by Nalajones2007
|
80% of the time home branded products have exactly the same ingredients as the premium brands. You are paying for the 'brand' rather than added quality. Actually, most home branded products are made in the same factories as the premium ones... It's silly really.

Don't take your bank card on a night out
Added by Nalajones2007
|
You've woken up, looked in your purse to see the damage from last night and you find a receipt. A receipt that says you've bought a bottle of champagne and paid for a £30 taxi ride when you live 2 minutes away from the club. Set yourself a limit and take cash, then all you can do when you run out is go home.

Ride your bike
Added by Nalajones2007

The cycle scheme is supported by a lot of economically minded companies. You can shave off the tax of a bike if you're using it to commute to and from work.

People always have meaningless clutter lying around their house, old mobile phones, VHS tapes and books can all be recycled for a cash return.

1. Don't go food shopping when you're hungry
Added by Nalajones2007
|
Everyone's done it, we've all gone to the supermarket with an empty belly and what happens? You spend £50 rather than £10. It is the golden rule of food shopping. If you do desperately need to go, take some snacks in your bag to munch on when you inevitably get those cravings!

Go to supermarket reduced section after 9pm
Added by Nalajones2007
|
Reduced sections are the best way to do your food shopping if you can. Fresh bread could be reduced from £1.50 to 20p at this time of night. There's always a good bargain so go mad!

Bring your lunch from home
Added by Nalajones2007
|
I was always envious of those people who constantly had 'working lunches' and looked forward to the day I had an office job where I could do it. Fat chance, it's expensive! I've taken to bringing my leftovers from dinner for lunch (although the dog is not very happy about it), oh well.

STOP BUYING LATTES!
Added by Nalajones2007
|
Why do we insist on spending £4 on rubbish coffee and a bit of milk? Invest in two things, a filter coffee machine (or an espresso machine if you're feeling oh la la) and a thermos. Hey presto, you've got coffee for a fraction of the price, and it's likely to be nicer too.
