Possibly the most famous complete garbage product Apple ever released. Possibly ahead of it's time although in 1993..it didn't recognize my writing. Price and poor functionality led to it's death.

Apple Cube

Released in 2000, the Cube sported a 450 to 500 mhz processor, vertical loading dvd/cd slot and required a separate monitor. It was hardly upgradeable, was too expensive and lacked many features.

Apple iBook Clamshell

Released in 1999, the design was influenced by the desktop iMac. The major argument was the bulky design made at a time when other notebooks' size was being reduced drastically.

Apple Pippin

Wait...what is this? Released in the US in 1996 for $599 with 66mhz powerpc 603 processor, 14.4kbit/s modem and ran a stripped down version of system 7.5.2. The multimedia system was designed by Apple and produced by Bandai. Bombed due to the price comparison of the Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64. Reportedly there were more keyboard and modem accessories than actual systems.

Who had these in there schools? We did. They were used for 1 week and shelved. Way to spend $15k! The eMate 300 was a PDA released in 1997 for $800. It's design eventually influenced another of our "Most Garbage Apple Products" - the iBook Clamshell.

Apple's FIRST iPhone! Released in 2005 by Motorola to much speculation. It bombed due to a limit of only 100 songs.

Local Integrated Software Architecture...the use of virtual memory and a slow disk system made the performance sluggish even in '83. The nail in the coffin was the price tag of $9,995. Thanks for saving me 5 bucks.

Macintosh Portable

Umm..ways more than my bike at 15.8 pounds and was bigger than a briefcase. So once you get past that, they only other small thing to worry about is the price tag of $6,500. Released in 1989 the Portable had a 16mhz powerplant, 1 mib ram and multiple expansion ports.

$7,499. Completely overpriced upon it's release in 1997.
